About this plant
The oleo-gum-resin of Balsamodendron myrrha contains furanodienes and curzerene with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antimicrobial properties. One of the most ancient traded medicinal substances, carried along the Incense Route from Arabia and the Horn of Africa for over 5,000 years. Documented in the Ebers Papyrus and central to Egyptian embalming rites. One of the three gifts of the Magi.
