About this plant
The seed of Arachis hypogaea contains resveratrol, a potent antioxidant concentrated in the skin, and p-coumaric acid which increases upon roasting. Domesticated from a natural hybrid approximately 10,000 years ago in Bolivia. The Moche of Peru depicted peanuts in pottery. George Washington Carver developed over 300 products from peanuts at Tuskegee.
